November 12, 2022 was the last time Ethan Chapin, 20; Madison Mogen, 21; Xana
Kernodle, 20; and Kaylee Goncalves, 21, lived their young lives, laughed with their
friends, ate their last meal, and took their last breath.
In the afternoon hours of Sunday morning, November 13, 2022, the four bodies of these
students were found stabbed to death in their home near the campus of Idaho State
University in Moscow, Idaho.
Police are in the middle of an investigation because so far there is no suspect and no murder weapon. which only leaves us wondering about so many unanswered questions: Who would commit such a gruesome crime? Who would have the mental capacity to kill four innocent young people? And why?
Two of the victims, Ethan Chapin and Madison Mogen, were seen at a party on campus in the early night hours of Saturday, and the other two victims Xana and Kaylee were at a local bar on Saturday night and then seen in video footage at a food truck at about 1:40 am Sunday morning. The young girls arrived back to their residence by 1:45 am via a Lyft transportation service. Reports say that two other roommates who lived in the residence were in the home during the time of the murders, but they are not considered suspects. It is believed that they were sleeping which leaves the public with so many more unanswered questions.
As of one week later, details remain very vague and students and their
families are left with unanswered questions, grief, and fear. The university canceled
classes, and those students who travel home left early for the holiday break because of
the eerie feeling in the town of Moscow, Idaho, and because there is a killer on the loose.
With no answers from the police and four families grieving the devastating loss of their kids, the whole country is watching and waiting for answers. We are all anxious to find out more, and hope the killer or killers are found soon.
