George Santos is a U.S. representative for Long Island, New York as a Republican. He was elected to Congress last year, and his career has only gone downhill from here. A scandal started when he was found guilty of lying about many things he accomplished in life such as his work and his educational background. If this isn't bad enough, more things about him have resurfaced that have members of Congress calling to have him removed immediately.
In January, two veterans claimed that George Santos started a fake GoFundMe for their dogs back in 2016. Now Santos is a congressman, so these men came forward and raised their concerns about him being in a position of power. Santos claimed there was a “lifesaving surgery,” he can help fund for them, but allegedly took off with the money after. These veterans found out about Goerge Santos through mutual friends, but at the time his name was not George Santos, but instead Anthony Devolder.
Being set up and working with George Santos was not an easy task either, “I had to jump through hoops and do everything his way,” Osthoff told CNN. “He was just totally, totally difficult. One obstacle after another.”
Now a more recent problem has occurred still involving the same topic, money and dogs. On February 15, 2023, an article was published about $15,000 worth of bad checks allegedly written by Santos to a dog breeder.
George Santos is a mysterious man who lies a lot. A man involved in government has a big and important job, and should not be a liar. He has been accused of stealing on multiple occasions and congress has had enough.
Jane Russell claims, “George Santos is nothing more than a pariah, he has no credibility with his GOP colleagues and no credibility with any representatives in the House.” Many people dislike and disagree with George Santos and what he is doing. Will he step down, or will he continue to lie and stay involved in Congress?
