Oscars 2026 Fashion Review

A huge aspect of the annual awards shows that many tune in for include celebrities wearing designer outfits that are either a hit or miss. This year there are a few highlights of the night; however, there were many celebrities who wore basic outfits for such a special occasion.

Teyana Taylor in Chanel

Starting on a positive note, Teyana Taylor never disappoints on the red carpet and this is no exception. She’s wearing a black and white feathered Chanel dress in Chanel’s signature colors. I love how there is a mix of feathers and bedazzled embellishments which make the dress more texturally interesting. Another feature I like is the sheer part of the dress with its embellishments resembling feathers. Lastly, her Tiffany & Co. necklace is a beautiful choice that pairs so well with the gorgeous dress.

Chase Infiniti in Louis Vuitton

As an ambassador for Louis Vuitton, it’s unsurprising that Chase Infiniti is wearing a custom Louis Vuitton gown. The lavender color looks great on her and the draping on the dress makes it more interesting. However, the tiered ruffles that sit on the side of her dress seem out of place and while I do understand that it makes the dress more special and unique, I still don’t like it. The dress almost feels like a prom dress rather than a gown made for one of the biggest award shows.

Elle Fanning in Givenchy

Elle Fanning is wearing a custom Givenchy ballgown, my favorite look of the night. My favorite part of the dress is either the wisteria flowers flowing down her gown or the bodice of this dress. The flowers make the dress more whimsical and I love how it does not flow all the way down the dress. I also adore how her necklace from Cartier presents wisterias, suiting her dress so well. The overall outfit looks and fits her well.

Renate Reinsve in Louis Vuitton

On the other hand, Renate Reinsve has one of my least favorite looks of the night. She is wearing a custom Louis Vuitton strapless gown. My least favorite part is the symmetrical train, making the dress look like wrapping paper. Another complaint I have is how low the dress sits on her. It looks very tight on her, and it doesn’t help that the only jewelry she’s wearing is a large bangle. Not only does the dress look unflattering, but her shoes as well. In my opinion, shoes with a point end look strange and uncomfortable to me.

The Oscars is an unforgettable night that allows each celebrity’s inner originality and style to shine. Their unique looks, whether appealing to one’s taste or not, leave an impression on each person who watches the awards show.
