2023 NBA Season: Which Teams are Swishing and Which Teams are Missing?

Katelyn Kmiotek '26

We are now about a month into the 2023 NBA season, and while some of the teams are soaring high, others are having trouble. Currently, the top team in the league (Eastern Conference) is the Celtics, having a record of 11-3. The Pistons are seeded last in the conference, with a record of 2-13.

As for the New York teams, the Knicks and the Nets, they aren’t doing so bad this season. The Knicks are 7th in the Eastern Conference with a record of 8-6, and the Nets are 10th with a record of 6-7.

As for individual players, according to stats, one of the best players in the NBA is Giannis Antetokounmpo. He has averaged about 30 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists per game. With these numbers, Antetokounmpo has made an impact in NBA history, which is a major milestone.

The second-best player in the NBA is Nikola Jokic. He has also made NBA history by leading the postseason in points, rebounds, and assists. Jokic had also won three straight MVPs, which is pretty impressive. The question is: will Jokic be number one in the NBA next season, or will Antetokounmpo be able to hold his number one spot?
