A Christmas Poem

Snow settles softly on the quiet street,
As candlelight and starlight gently meet.
Windows glow with stories warm and kind,
Of love remembered, and of hearts entwined.
The world slows down, if only for a while,
To trade its worry for a hopeful smile.
Old songs drift through the frosted air,
Carrying peace from here to everywhere.
In simple gifts and hands held tight,
We find the magic of this winter night.
For Christmas lives where compassion begins
In giving, forgiving, and welcoming in.
