Christmas Spirit

When I was small, the world was bright

Christmas sparkled, pure delight

Holly jingled, laughter soared

Magic poured from every door.

Snowflakes danced on frosty roofs,

Stockings hung with hopes and dreams.

Candles flickered, eyes aglow

Every heart seemed to overflow.

But as the years moved on, the magic faded.

The world seemed less enchanted, jaded.

The lights still twinkled, the carols played.

Yet something in me had begun to fade.

Then friends and family gathered near

Voices singing, warm and clear.

Laughter wrapped around the room

And suddenly, the spirit bloomed.

Not the gifts nor a sparkling tree,

But in the love that sets hearts free.

For Christmas lives where hearts unite.

And shines again in shared delight.
