Olivia Rodrigo is known for her albums ‘SOUR’ & ‘GUTS’, but after over 3 years of waiting, fans have finally gotten their wish: Rodrigo announced her 3rd album. Rodrigo is known for writing breakup songs, or songs about growing up as a teen; however, this new album seems to tell a different story. Rodrigo and her team have been teasing and hinting towards the album for a long time now, causing fans to have speculated so many possible titles and themes, such as Love, Fire, Envy, or even Burn, keeping with Olivia's four-letter rule when it comes to titles. However, what Rorigo went with was a total shock to her fans.

On April 2nd, Olivia Rodrigo announced her 3rd studio album titled “ You Seem Pretty Sad For a Girl So In Love,” which will drop on June 12th, 2026. The album is highly anticipated by ‘Livies’ all around the world and is already being called “ Album of the Year” by her fans. By highlighting an overall theme of love, the album already strays away from her previously released songs.

Following the album announcement, Rodrigo and her team began teasing the release of the lead single, including snippets of the song. On April 7th, Rodrigo announced that her song drop dead would be released on April 17th. The song became an immediate hit and is already being called the song of the summer. The song is upbeat, vibrant, and tells the story of falling in love and being in a happy relationship. The night before the single’s release, Rodrigo announced that a surprise music video would also drop with it. Fans were shocked and overjoyed to finally get a new music video from Rodrigo.

Livies are excited for Rodrigo to begin this new era! The album is a shift from the dark colors of purple & red to a pink, girly vibe, and fans are loving this style for Rodrigo. The album has already surpassed 2 million pre-saves on Spotify alone. Being a fan myself, I know that we cannot wait to finally hear new music from Liv after all these years!
