Aaron Rodgers is Finally a Jet

Maria DiMaggio '25

Throughout the negotiations and questions if Aaron Rogers would be traded to the New York Jets, many people were really nervous, and the longer it went on, everyone thought it wouldn’t get done. Fans tried not to get too excited. Aaron Rodgers himself was in the midst of deciding whether he wants to keep playing and for whom.

There has been a lot of drama with Rodgers’s actual decision to go to the Jets, as he took multiple months and went on a “darkness retreat” as part of his process. This was a time to reflect without distractions.

Finally, after several weeks of negotiations, Aaron Rodgers is indeed now part of the Jets.

To think that they have him now is honestly a dream come true for not only this team, but for all their faithful, committed fans. His precise passing, football knowledge and his ability to make plays will finally give some hope to the fans that stuck by a struggling team.

According to sophomore Layla Wolf, “As a Jets fan I am more than excited to see what Aaron Rodgers has to bring on the field. Hopefully he will help the Jets win some more games!”

His career consists of 59,055 passing yards, 35 rushing touchdowns, 5,001 passing completions, 65.3% completion percentage. And as his career now entails playing for the Jets, the expectations are high.

Despite having great defense along with great pieces on offense, the Jets missed the playoffs, largely because of the poor performance of Zach Wilson. They needed a new quarterback which is the reason they went after Rodgers.

Now the Jets upgraded with their QB position, which is crucial for any team’s success. Now their success falls on the head coach Saleh. They got a lot to figure out during this off season, but with the new recruitment of Aaron Rodger hopefully a change for the better will be made.

Aaron Rodgers said, “I believe in this team, it has potential.” ESPN reported that Aaron Rodgers is suffering a minor calf injury.

This gives the Jets a little bit of anxiety, but this injury is “no issue” according to Saleh. As Aaron Rodgers is warming up during the offseason, he not only brings his skill to the team, but also brings forth his knowledge to his teammates.

Big games are to come! J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS JETS!
