“What are you wearing tonight?” is a common question asked by many reporters as stars walk down the red carpet. The Golden Globes is not only about award winners - it's about the fabulous designs the stars have on!
So, what did this year's fashion look like? Well, starting strong, Zendaya wore an orange gown that gave off old Hollywood with a modern-day twist. Zendaya also debuted her engagement ring for the first time at a public event, creating quite a buzz. A few stars decided to go with the “gold” theme such as Cate Blanchett and Nikki Glaser, who entered the Golden Globes in long, flowy, dresses of the color.
Arianna Grande's outfit for this year's Golden Globes was inspired by Audrey Hepburn, a well-known actress. Though many Arianna fans did enjoy her look, others believed that she could have done something more - expecting her to go pink in honor of Glinda. Grande was not the only one who went with a classic look on the carpet. Many of the stars went with a nostalgic look for the night.
Some sources believe that this throwback to fashion is not the best for the carpet and that Hollywood needs to be “less conservative." However, the media believes the classic designs are fit for Hollywood and bring the style of old Hollywood back into trend.
Popular designers for the outfits this year were Louis Vuitton (Zendaya's gown), Chanel, Dior, and several others. Selena Gomez wore a blue Chanel dress that was simple, yet stunning.
Unlike Selena, many actors/actresses can go a bit too exotic with their outfits, such as Ari Graynor. Though it was unique, I personally find it a bit disorienting, and according to a source, “....it is giving definite cat cradle vibes."
Another popular style this year was wearing long gloves, as seen in Ali Wong, Arianna Grande, and Kerry Washington's looks. Kerry Washington went with an 80s prom dress vibe, but did those black gloves really match? And Ali Wong had a clear vision, however, it wasn't the best with red feathers on a long dress, plus black stockings AND gloves.
The Golden Globes had many unique and fashionable outfits. This year had its ups and downs, but all in all, Golden Globes 2025 fashion shined bright!
