Puerto Rican music artist Bad Bunny recently hosted and starred on WWE’s ‘Backlash’ pay-per-view event in San Juan, Puerto Rico on May 6th.
WWE has tapped back into the tried-and-true concept of using pay-per-view cards in certain cities, one of the most recent being Puerto Rico. The Latin sensation went up against Damian Priest and exceeded any expectations in his first singles match.
Damian Priest assumed defeating Bad Bunny would be effortless and dominated the match at first without using any of the weapons. Things quickly turned around when Bunny hit him with a chair, following with kendo stick shots.
When Bad Bunny started picking up, Damian Priest left the ring and acted like he was giving up, walking toward the back. Bunny followed him with a trash can and was going to hit Priest with it, but it was a trap. Priest turned and kicked the trash can into Bad Bunny.
Bad Bunny hit his leg with a kendo stick and a steel chair. He was ready to hit Priest again with a chair, but Priest begged him to stop, apologizing for all he had done. Bad Bunny reached down to him, accepting his apology but ended up falling for another trap, with Priest kicking him in the face.
In his interview on Apple Music 1’s New Music Daily radio show he said, “I remember that I said before the WrestleMania fight that day was one of my favorite moments of my life, but the Backlash fight in Puerto Rico was on another level. It was really one of the biggest and best moments of my life.”
Bad Bunny’s hosting of this pay-per-view had many twists and turns and was a great performance. What was supposed to be Bad Bunny just hosting WWE ‘Backlash’ ended with him personally putting on a spectacular display.
