It’s that time of year that high school students look forward to: winter break. High school students all around the country look forward to this short break in their busy lives. After months of schoolwork, exams, early mornings, and extracurricular activities, this break is much needed for most. The question becomes: what is the best activity to do over winter break? Is it better to be productive, catch up with family and friends, or just relax and do nothing?

One of the most popular activities is hanging out with friends. Whether it is school friends, family-friends, or just people outside of school that you don’t get to see often. This time off is the perfect time for hangouts, movie nights, baking cookies, ice skating, or going to the city. This time off allows students to make up for all the times they missed their friends or were just too busy to hang out.

Fontbonne Hall Academy students said that their favorite thing to do with their friends is to go ice skating or have a big hangout with a large number of their friends. There are great experiences that can not only allow students to relax, but also for them to make great memories.

Winter break is also a great time to binge-watch some new TV shows, catch up on reading, or do a hobby that you don’t have a lot of time for. At Fontbonne, many students said that over winter break, they binge-watched Heated Rivalry and Tell Me Lies. Fontbonne students said another at-home favorite was coloring, which is a hobby that takes some time, and is something that most students don’t have time for in the regular school year.

No matter what you do on winter break, it is important to rest up, but also have some fun, because once you go back to school, it is pedal to the metal. Take the rest that is deserved and prepare for what the New Year has in store.
