Everyone was excited to watch the World Cup. However, fans weren’t ready to see Jungkook perform. “Dreamers”, the song that he performed inspired so many people. BTS has changed the industry again with Jungkook being the first K-pop idol to perform at the World Cup.
The BTS army from all over the world was ecstatic to see someone they recognized on stage. Jungkook of BTS performed on stage alongside featured guest and Qatari singer Fahad Al Kubaisi for the Opening Ceremony. Sophia Ypsilantis '24 expresses her excitement by saying, “I can’t believe Jungkook was at the World Cup! I have been an army since their debut and would love to see him and other members in future big world events!”
BTS themselves have been booming in the American music industry lately. Jungkook recently collaborated with Charlie Puth on a song called, “Left and Right.” I would recommend this song to everyone reading, for it has a catchy tune along with a beautiful story to it.
As a fan of Korean pop music, I am so happy to see such achievements made by BTS. These new strides are giving a good representation of Asian singers and artists. People from all over the world can see these different cultures mesh together.
