Celebrities Still Can’t Style Red Carpet Outfits - 2026 Grammy Outfit Review

Sabrina Carpenter in Valentino

At the 2026 Grammy Awards, Sabrina Carpenter wore a custom sheer ivory Valentino gown designed by Alessandro Michele. Don’t get me wrong, she looked amazing, but the outfit still had some styling flaws. For starters, her hair was too simply styled to be paired with an elaborate gown like this. She’s known for her iconic voluminous curls, so this plain style choice was pretty odd. In the same way, she missed her chance to elevate this beautiful gown with a neckpiece or other piece of jewelry.

Olivia Dean in Chanel

Olivia Dean wore a custom black and white sequin dress from Chanel. The dress suited her style, and she looked good, but I do feel like it was missing something—a “wow factor.” As a brand, Chanel is known for its jewelry, and specifically its long necklaces and hats, so I’m surprised she didn’t incorporate any of those signature items in her look. Surely, doing so would have elevated her outfit and would have kept it from looking too simple. Considering what we saw in both Olivia and Sabrina’s looks, it seems as though celebrity stylists have a distaste for accessories.

Teyana Taylor in Tom Ford

Teyanna Taylor wore a custom Tom Ford gown (as pictured on the left) inspired by Tom Ford Summer 2026. In comparison to the original dress (displayed on the right), Teyanna’s dress had a much more appealing style and fabric design. The gown’s shimmery bronze fabric and additional dramatic cut-outs made it much more interesting to look at. She also had on a long gold Tiffany & Co. necklace, which I’d say was much needed for the deep center cut in the dress.

Lady Gaga in Matières Fécales

Lady Gaga wore a custom black feathered gown from Matières Fécales. Her slicked back bleached hair and matching eyebrows worked well with the dramatic features of the dress. Capturing a uniquely gothic style, this dress, along with the other outfits she wore that night, aligned nicely with her newest album, “Mayhem.”

Audrey Nuna in Thom Browne

Audrey Nuna wore a deconstructed Thom Browne outfit from Thom Browne Fall 2024 Couture. Thom Browne has some exceptional couture looks, and although this one wasn’t my favorite, I can’t deny that it was still a great outfit. It was one of a few avant-garde styles on the red carpet, and for that reason, it ranks among my top favorites of the night.
