Female country star, Megan Moroney, won a CMA Award for new artist of the year at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday. She was nominated alongside Shaboozey, Nate Smith, Mitchell Tenpenny, Zach Top and Bailey Zimmerman. The rising star performed her hit “Am I Okay?” during this awards Show. She dedicated her award to Jesus and the people who supported her. Moroney earned three nominations at this year's awards show including Female Vocalist of the Year, music video of the year ("I'm Not Pretty") and New artist of the Year, which she landed for the second year in a row.

To end the night, Morgan Wallen was presented with the award Entertainer of the Year. This year, the singer did not attend the show, but was the most nominated artist with seven nominations, including Male Vocalist of the Year. In April of this year, Wallen was arrested in Nashville after allegedly throwing a chair off a downtown rooftop. As a result, he was deemed ineligible for individual CMA awards, though he did win Entertainer of the Year.
