Double Trouble: Both NY Baseball Teams Fail To Make It To The Playoffs

Both of the New York baseball teams failed their fans, and got knocked out before the playoffs even started. This is very disappointing, considering that the Yankees had a winning record throughout their season, and the Mets had a very competitive season.

As for the Yankees, this is the first time that they have failed to make it to the playoffs since 2016, and they last won the World Series in 2009. As you can imagine, it is just as upsetting for them as it is for us. They had lost to the Arizona Diamondbacks, 7-1– not the best way to go out. The Yankees have a winning record, but with a few games remaining, they are trying to hold their winning record, which they have achieved since 1992.

Aaron Judge, a player on the New York Yankees, said in an interview after the game, “There’s a lot that went wrong. When it comes down to it, we didn’t just come out here and do our job.”

On the Mets side, they lost to the Phillies in a very competitive game. The Mets had hit a homerun in the bottom of the 9th inning to tie up the game. They went into the 10th inning, where the Phillies had unfortunately scratched across a run off a bloop single and the Mets lost.

This game went back and forth between the 2 teams the whole time, first the Mets were up, then the Phillies, then the Mets and then the Phillies. Even though we are sad that the Mets are out of the playoffs, at least they went down fighting.

Hopefully next season will look better for both the New York Yankees and the New York Mets!
