Finding My Place as A Bonnie

Starting at a new school can be both exciting and nerve-wracking. When I first started at Fontbonne I wasn’t sure what to expect. Everything was new to me: my teachers, classmates, and daily routines. The first few days felt different as I was still getting used to my surroundings, but as the weeks went by, I started to feel more comfortable and confident.
During the first month of school, one of the biggest challenges was adjusting to a new environment. I had to learn where my classes were, get used to my schedule, and understand the school's expectations. At first, remembering where everything was felt challenging, but overtime I began to get the hang of it. I also started meeting new people and getting to know my classmates who helped me feel more welcomed and made the transition to a new school easier.
One of the most memorable traditions that I experienced these past two months was Walk-a-thon. Walk-a-thon was a great opportunity for students to come together, support our school community, and spend time with peers. The walk-a-thon helped me realize that being at Fontbonne is more than just going to class and completing assignments. It's about participating in school events, supporting one another, and creating memories.
Another tradition was attending Mass. As a Catholic school, Fontbonne helps students get the opportunity to come together in prayer, reflect on their faith, and remember the importance of kindness, gratitude and helping others.
As a new bonnie, the first two months of school have been a period of growth, learning and new experiences. From getting used to my classes to participating in traditions, I have learned that being a part of a school means being involved in the community. Even though I am still adjusting, I can now feel more comfortable than I did on my first day. These first two months have shown me that starting somewhere new can be challenging but it can also lead to new friendships, meaningful experiences, and opportunities to grow.
