Finn Wolfhard, mostly known for his role on the popular Netflix series Stranger Things as Mike Wheeler, sat down with Jimmy Fallon on Oct. 12, 2021 to talk about the upcoming season of Stranger Things, Ghostbusters: Afterlife, and his new album Karaoke Alone. Wolfhard has many new things coming up for him this year and next year, movies, TV shows, and music are some of the things he’s been working on and is getting ready to share with the public. He’s been on the radar as an actor and musician for a while now, but ever since COVID-19 hit, he hasn’t been able to film movies and new episodes with his cast-mates or record music with his band. But now he is finally able to do so and is releasing many new things at once at the end of 2021 and in 2022. Stranger Things season four is one of the longest-awaited Netflix originals and took an extremely long time to film. “We shot for 300 days,” Wolfhard tells Fallon. The Covid-19 delay really took a toll on the show’s production, but the producers, directors, and the rest of the cast and crew were extremely patient. “Yeah. Like, I’m so glad they still care, ‘cause, you know, if a show runs for that long, the creators stop caring. They cash in. They really still care.” Wolfhard says about the Duffer Brothers, the creators of the show. He also teased what was going to happen this season with some of the characters and their storylines, and the cliffhangers from last season that are finally going to have an answer. Fallon changed the subject to Wolfhard’s second band, the Aubreys, formed in 2019, which consists of only him and his friend Malcolm Craig. He talked very little about their new album coming out Nov. 5, 2021 called Karaoke Alone. Another one of Wolfhard’s newest projects coming up is the sequel to the Ghostbusters franchise, Ghostbusters: Afterlife, coming out Nov. 19, 2021. “Yeah, it’s actually kind of almost, like, a direct sequel,” Wolfhard teases about the new era of Ghostbusters. They go on to talk about the cast and some of the small storylines of the movie, but also how Wolfhard got to meet the original cast from 1984, which left him starstruck. “It’s like being in the room with like, the Apostles or something.” Was just some of the things Wolfhard said about being around the original cast of Ghostbusters. “He makes everything he’s ever in better,” he says about Dan Aykroyd, who plays Ray Stanz in the original Ghostbusters. Finn Wolfhard’s appearance on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon left many fans even more excited for Stranger Things four, Ghostbusters: Afterlife and “Karaoke Alone” with hints about the new season coming out in 2022, a new movie, and new music coming to us in Nov. with Wolfhard starring in all three
