Travis Kelce, NFL football player, discussed his experience at one of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour concerts, telling his co-host and brother Jason Kelce, that he felt bummed that he didn't get to meet Taylor.
He had intended to give her a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it, the tight end explained, "I was disappointed that she doesn't talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs she sings," he said on New Heights.
Three days later, Taylor performed a well-timed rendition of "Stay, Stay, Stay," one of her only songs that mentions football, at the Eras Tour in Santa Clara. While it could just be a coincidence, this could be Taylor's public reaction to Travis's podcast confession. The lyrics go: "This morning I said we should talk about it / Cause I read you should never leave a fight unresolved / That's when you came in wearing a football helmet and said 'Okay let's talk.'
“I feel that she is too good for him but they're cute I guess,” Maya Seminara, FA 10, says.
Travis and Taylor are said to be "secretly hanging out” and Travis appears to have created something real. The Messenger was the first to report that the "Anti-Hero" singer and the Chiefs tight end were "quietly hanging out" on September 12, 2023.
Travis appeared on the Pat McAfee Show, where he stated that he invited Taylor to a Chiefs game and hinted at her upcoming appearance, "I told her that I've seen her rock a stage in Arrowhead and she might have to come see me rock the stage at Arrowhead," he said, "We'll see what happens in the near future.”
“I feel like she deserves better but they are a cute couple,” says freshman, Charlie Varbero, when asked how she felt about the couple.
Finally, the moment that sent the Internet into a tailspin, is that Taylor was spotted in the stands at the Chiefs-Bears game on September 24. And, based on the photos, she had a great time with Travis' mother, Donna Kelce. Everyone was going crazy on the internet.
Travis later explained on an episode of New Heights, that Taylor and Travis went to see Ice Spice perform on Saturday Night Live in mid-October. The couple attended—and even made cameos on the show—by chance, after eating dinner at Nobu in New York. Taylor debuted with Ice Spice, and Travis appeared in a sketch about the Swelce hysteria.
Taylor was most recently seen at a Kansas City Chiefs game against the Chargers of Los Angeles on Oct. 22, was wearing a Chiefs jersey, and was adorned with a friendship bracelet that read "87." The star was seen spending the day with Travis' family before watching the game in a box with Brittany Mahomes. The two women appear to be getting closer—they even have a secret handshake.
Alia Pompeo adds in her two cents about the situation, “I feel that they are a really good couple for many reasons. First off, they almost immediately clicked, right after their first appearance together they started being caught together by the paparazzi almost every day or at least at every one of his games. Also, Taylor Swift's lucky number is 13 and he is Taylor’s 13th boyfriend so this could be good luck! Lastly, in her song “Mary’s Song,” there is a lyric ‘I'll be eighty-seven and you'll be eighty-nine’ and Travis Kelce’s jersey number is 87 and the last two digits in their birth years is 89 (1989).”
Taylor afterwards was seen heading out of a stadium with Travis, and on Oct. 23, TMZ had published images of Taylor kissing Travis on the cheek. I guess we can say everything worked out in Mr. Kelce's favor.
