Premiere of Ginny and Georgia Season 2

Francesca Surace '25

On January 5, season 2 of the popular Netflix series Ginny and Georgia premiered. It was ranked the number 1 most watched TV show in America for about a week. This season received many mixed opinions, and we will hear about some from our Bonnies.

Ginny and Georgia is about a mother-and-daughter relationship as Ginny, the daughter, goes through high school and reveals life-altering secrets about her mother, Georgia. Ginny is also dealing with moving and falling in love in her new town. She has a messy life, and it really embodies some struggles of a modern-day teenager, hence the appeal to high school girls like our own.

Season 2 was definitely more intense and drama-filled than season 1. Some girls liked this aspect, and others didn’t. We heard from Giavanna Castelle ‘25 who said, “It was decent, but I thought the ending was pointless.”

“I liked the first season better,” stated Jacqueline Bocchieri ‘25.

Others shared very different opinions on the new season. Brianna Scotto ‘24 exclaimed, “The ending was VERY very good!”

Similarly, Gianna Felicia ‘24 expressed, “Personally, it’s much better than season 1. It definitely covered a more sensitive topic and destroyed Max’s character, but the Georgia scenes were fire.” Season 2 was definitely more relatable and engaging for at least some of our Bonnies’ entertainment.

The new season answered most of the audience's questions and left them off with some new cliffhangers. It was generally a fulfilling new season that many people awaited, and left very few disappointed fans.

Overall, the watchers will be expecting a season 3 where their favorite characters get the ending they had hoped for.
