Rapunzel & Flynn Make Their Return: Live-Action ‘Tangled’ Has Been Casted!

In 2010, the hit Disney movie Tangled was released into theaters. Now, almost 15 years later and just in time for its 15th anniversary, it’s making its return to the big screen– but just a bit different. For months, people have been speculating that a Tangled live action remake was in the works. Multiple posts about possible castings of the characters were shared, getting fans excited and making their own fan castings of the film. A few girls were up for the role of Rapunzel, such as Sarah Catherine Hook, Teagan Croft, Freya Skye, and Olivia Mai Barret. For the role of Flynn, the candidates were Milo Manheim, Charlie Gillespie Taylor, Zakhar Perez, Avan Jogia, Louis Partridge, Zayn Malik, Ben Barnes, Danny Ramirez, and even Timothée Chalamet. In the end, our new Rapunzel and Flynn for the upcoming live-action remake of Tangled are Teagan Croft and Milo Manheim!

Fans of this classic, popular Disney film are extremely excited for the new live-action take; however, some fans worry about how Disney will approach it. In previous years, Disney has done a lot of live-action remakes of princess stories, such as Snow White (2025), Beauty and the Beast (2017), The Little Mermaid (2023), and Cinderella (2015), to name just a few. While all were great films, some were not as popular as others. Fans worry about Disney changing parts of the movie that don't need to be changed.

The most exciting part of this upcoming film just might be that Milo Manheim is playing Flynn Rider, a favorite casting among fans. Multiple fan castings include Milo Manheim as Flynn Rider, so when fans spoke, Disney listened! Manheim has worked on multiple other Disney movies such as Zombies 1 (2018), Zombies 2 (2020), Zombies 3 (2022), Zombies 4 (2025), and Prom Pact (2023). Teagan Croft was also an exciting choice for Rapunzel and definitely looks the part! She hasn't starred in any Disney movies before Tangled. However, she did star in other films/shows such as The Osiris Child (2016), True Spirit (2023), and Titans (2018-2023).

There hasn't been any more information mentioned about who could possibly be playing the other characters. However, Kathryn Han is in talks of possibly playing Mother Gothel in the movie. While there is no official release date yet, we can expect a late 2027 release.

All in all, the film will definitely be a box office hit with all its hype and its already huge fan base and popularity! We can't wait to see the final results of this new take of a Disney favorite!
