The sun began to hide and the flakes began to fall.
Families sat around the fire telling all the Christmas stories they recall.
The very day was approaching and the enthusiasm swarmed all.
As I watched the snow build up I knew this year I wouldn't be small.
The children ran outside and through their creativity I started to come alive.
First my body, then my head, my full form was soon to arrive.
However, my eyes, nose and mouth were still deprived.
But then small pebbles and a carrot were found in which my facial features were derived.
Christmas Eve had finally come, I stood in the front yard to greet guests
Everyone looked ravishing, dressed in their very best.
The overwhelming joy that filled many hearts reminded them that they are truly blessed.
Excitement occupied the world, there was nothing about the day that anyone could detest.
However, the next morning was the day that I feared.
My solid, sturdy form started melting away and the children's faces were so sincere.
But my smile made of pebbles did not disappear.
My grin stayed intact to remind the children this isn’t goodbye, it’s see you next year.
