The 2026 Super Bowl marked the 60th anniversary of the game, and it did not disappoint. In an unforgettable night of Sunday football, the Seattle Seahawks defeated the New England Patriots 29-13, securing a surprising yet decisive victory. While past years’ games kept fans on the edge of their seats with constant back-and-forth action, this year the Seahawks took the lead early and never let it go. This game was defined by defensive pressure, ball control, and late-game drama, but Seattle’s consistency earned them the win.

The Seahawks set the tone early in the game by executing special plays and relying on a strong defense. Kicker Jason Myers opened the scoring with several field goals just in the first half alone. This allowed Seattle to have a 9-0 lead by halftime. While the first half lacked big plays, Seattle’s steady performance prevented the New England Patriots from finding their footing in the game.

Quarterback Sam Darnold had an impressive game, throwing for over 200 yards and a touchdown without committing any turnovers. He executed a key fourth-quarter score to AJ Barner, helping them gain a significant lead. Running back Kenneth Walker III also made a significant impact, rushing for 135 yards.

For New England, quarterback Drake Maye threw for close to 300 yards and had two successful touchdown passes. However, Maye letup two interceptions, one of which turned into a touchdown for Seattle. Another game-changer was the three turnovers New England let up.

As the final buzzer sounded, the Seahawks celebrated a well-earned win. Super Bowl LX showcased strong defense, capitalizing on opponents’ mistakes, and consistent execution, leading Seattle to win over New England.
