What happens when the best baseball players in the world stop playing for their teams - and start playing for their countries? The World Baseball Classic is an international baseball tournament where teams from around the world compete against each other to get a win for their country. It is organized by Major League Baseball and was first held in 2006. The World Baseball Classic event is held every few years and includes outstanding professional baseball players, even MLB stars.

There are 20 teams that compete in the tournament and the teams are split into 4 groups. The top 2 teams from each group advance to the next games. After that, there are the quarterfinals, semifinals, and finally, the championship game.

The players who participate represent countries based on their citizenship and family heritage. Teams can include players from different leagues around the world because of this.

The World Baseball Classic took place March 5th to the 17th this year. The games were held in cities such as Miami, Houston, Tokyo, and San Juan. There were 20 national teams involved. Venezuela competed against the United States in the championship game and took the win. This was Venezuelas first title. The World Baseball

Classic showcases how baseball is now played at a high level around the world, and allows viewers to see that many countries have great teams that can play against each other.
