The Golden Globe Awards were certainly a night to remember, celebrating the best in film & television. The award show was held on January 6th in Los Angeles, California. It was hosted by the charismatic comedian Nikki Glaser who kept the energy lively and engaging throughout the evening. She made history as the 1st solo female host and cracked jokes on some of the actors and movies nominated.

Films like Emilia Pérez and The Brutalist swept the awards, showcasing powerful stories and remarkable performances. The Brutalist won “Best Motion Picture – Drama”, while Emilia Pérez won “Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy.” Controversially, the movie-musical Wicked only won 1 award, “Cinematic and Box Office Achievement.”

In the acting categories, Adrien Brody won Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama for his role in The Brutalist, and Fernanda Torres won Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama for her role in I'm Still Here. The supporting categories were equally exciting with winners Zoe Saldaña in Emilia Pérez and Kieran Culkin in A Real Pain.

History was truly made when Fernanda Torres became the first Brazilian actor to win the award for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama for her role in I'm Still Here. Coincidentally, she won the award nearly 25 years after her mother became the 1st Brazilian actress nominated for the category.

Overall, the 2025 Golden Globe Awards were a dazzling showcase of talent and artistry, reminding us all of the power of storytelling and the importance of representation in Hollywood.
