Is it too early for Christmas? Many people love the season of Christmas, all the love it brings, festive decorations, and the sense of cheer and hope. With this being said, many choose to decorate their homes as soon as Halloween is over or towards the beginning of November. On the other hand, some feel by doing this we brush over Thanksgiving so they choose to wait until the holiday is over.
For those who start early, they want the love and joy of Christmas to extend for as long as possible. So, as soon as the calendar flips from October 31st to November 1st, they already have the decorations out of their storage bins. The bright lights, warm hot cocoa, and festive music are what people thrive on during these cold months as it brings joy and warmth. To many people, starting their decorating early is a way to see hope and create a place of happiness and excitement during the winter months.
In contrast, some feel going straight into Christmas takes away from other important events such as Thanksgiving. They feel that each holiday should have its own time to be celebrated and that the Christmas season should not be rushed into. They also argue that one month for Christmas is enough time to fully take in all it brings. They feel it is more important to cherish each moment rather than rush into things and to let the anticipation of Christmas build up naturally.
In my opinion, I feel that mid-November is the perfect time for Christmas decorations. I think that any time in the month of October is way too early. However, after Halloween, I think it is acceptable for the decorations to come out. I understand that others feel Thanksgiving gets overlooked, so I feel during the week of Thanksgiving, we should put a pause on Christmas and celebrate the giving season. Taking in consideration both arguments, I feel that the best time to decorate is when the holiday season starts in your home.
Overall, the answer to the question “Is it too early for Christmas?” is based on personal opinion. Some find joy in an extended holiday season while others prefer to wait until December. In my opinion, whatever makes a person the happiest is what matters. The important thing is to keep the holiday joy and spread love!
