It has recently been announced that the 2026 World Cup Final will be held at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. The final will be played on June 19, 2026.
There will be a total of 104 matches in the World Cup, which will be played in 16 cities throughout Canada, Mexico and the United States. The location of the World Cup was chosen in a vote by FIFA’s Congress.
The United States hosted the World Cup for the first time in 1996. Mexico has hosted the World Cup three times. This will be the first time Canada co-hosts the World Cup.
The World Cup will begin on June 11, 2026, and the first game will be played in Mexico City. It has been concluded that the final will take place at Metlife stadium. There seemed to be a fight over whether the final should take place at Metlife Stadium or AT&T Stadium in Dallas. However, it was decided that the event will take place at Metlife in New Jersey considering that this state has some of the strictest gun laws; whereas, Texas has many political conflicts taking place.
Even though the event is two years away, Metlife Stadium is already being prepared for the World Cup. The name of the stadium will be changing since FIFA prohibits any stadium names that they do not sponsor. Due to this, Metlife Stadium will be changed to New York New Jersey Stadium.
Many soccer fans are thrilled that this thrilling event is taking place at this stadium due to its close proximity to one of the most notable cities in the world. This event is expected to bring in countless tourists.
