Yankees Postseason: Improvements

It has been a long stretch since 2009, 14 years to be exact. The Yankees finally made it back into the World Series, and although they came up short, it was still impressive. The Yankees definitely weren’t the underdog, but many didn't expect them to make it as far as they did. Yet, there are still many Yankee fans out there hoping for them to come back and win it all next year!

In total the Yankees played 176 games over the season and postseason, of these games 162 were in season. It was a team contribution with help from all players, even down to the last inning of the last game. Judge said, “Guys had some great years this year. It was fun playing with this group of guys that really came together, the guys that we either signed to come here or traded for. They all fit this club perfectly and really bought into what we were doing.” This showed everyone that it was a group effort.

Many Yankee fans can agree that the team looked stronger in the playoffs then in the World Series games. Was it just nerves? Maybe they weren’t prepared enough? What do they need to work on? These are all questions that fans are asking.

After reading some articles, the 3 main moves that the Yankees have to make in the off season is: re-signing Juan Soto, adding a new first baseman, and adding a starting pitcher. Although Juan Soto just completed his first year on the Yankees, he proved to be a vital asset to the team, and even a main reason for some of their big wins this past season.

Anthony Rizzo, the Yankees first baseman for this last season, is not what he used to be. He is a little older and he has been banned around quite some much, in the last few years. The Yankees might benefit greatly by gaining a new, younger first baseman.

If the Yankees make their needed improvements who knows, maybe they can win it all next year!
