Both our Fontbonne JV and Varsity cheer teams made it to Nationals in Disney World this year. From the moment the 2024-2025 season began, the teams set the bar high and aimed for that final competition.

As a member of the JV team, the practices were often grueling and ran until very late in the night, but we would all make it work until we reached our goal. Every cheerleader, from the flyers to the bases to the back spots, put in countless hours to ensure their stunts and cheer were the best they could be.

All four coaches played a pivotal role in pushing the teams to their maximum potential to prepare for the Nationals. However, the road to the castle was not without its challenges. Injuries, setbacks, and the pressure for both teams to perform at their very best were stressful.

Ultimately, these obstacles only helped power their determination to get one step closer to their long-cherished goal. As a freshman and my first year on the team, all I can say is that I’m grateful to have been a part of such an amazing journey.

All the new bonds formed and memorable experiences will never be forgotten. Even though the results at nationals weren't ideal, the experience overall was still magical.
