This spring, the Fontbonne Hall Academy Drama Club transported audiences from the streets of St.Petersburg to beautiful Paris, with their amazing production of Anastasia. Behind breathtaking scenes there was hard work, dedication and students and teachers working together to bring this to life.

Preparation for Anastasia began months before the curtains ever rose. Auditions were held in December and rehearsals quickly became a usual part of life of the cast and crew.

“This was one of my favorite shows to Direct and it exceeded my expectations.” said Susan Huizinga, director of Fontbonne’s Drama Club.

Senior Hailey Johnson, the club President and the actress playing Anya, described the experience as “life-changing.” “This role pushed me in ways I never expected,” Hailey said. “Anya’s story is about bravery, hope, and finding yourself, which is something I think all of us can relate to as we get ready to graduate.”

As opening night approached, nerves ran high but so did excitement. Students grew into their roles and supported each other. It's not just about putting on a show. It's about building confidence, friendship and memories that last a lifetime.
