Last month, the New York Rangers had a winning streak of five consecutive away games. In the last few games, the New York Rangers faced extremely difficult circumstances. But the Blueshirts defied the odds and started an incredible winning streak.
They had a grueling away schedule against the following teams:
1. Seattle Kraken (W 4-1)
2. Calgary Flames (W 3-1)
3. Edmonton Oilers (W 3-0)
4. Vancouver Canucks (W 4-3 OT)
5. Winnipeg Jets (W 3-2 OT)
New York had to play in four different time zones at one point, giving credibility to the arduous nature of this road stretch for the ninth time in franchise history. The last time they did this was during the 2018-2019 season.
The fact that the Blueshirts created franchise history is even more amazing, because this is the first time in the team's history that the New York Rangers have swept a five-game road trip.
It's always wonderful to see that franchise history has been created. This team is far better than it was the previous season, and this stretch showed that they can make a deeper playoff run.
Blueshirts fans should be ecstatic for the remainder of the season because Peter Laviolette is already showing himself to be a far better coach than Gerard Gallant was. Fans hope the Rangers maintain this level of play, win more games, and take the Metropolitan Division.
