Fontbonne Hall Academy’s soccer team is ranked fourth among other Catholic high schools in their division. They have a balanced win to lose ratio. Their excellent teamwork and coordination of the ball allows them to be ranked so highly.
Joanne Maropakis, a center midfielder, stated that she is able to connect with her teammates and understand their strengths and weaknesses on the field. Not only does she collaborate with her teammates, she feels confident on the pitch. After a challenging game, they always bounce back and conquer.
The team is composed of 6 freshmen, 4 juniors, and 12 seniors. This allows the girls to create a connection with older and younger students. Using the bonds they created, they are able to unite and look forward to games and practices.
The practices consist of laps around the field, shooting drills, stretching, and passing, which usually last around 1 hour or more. Practices engage players to feel ready and active before their games.
Fontbonne Hall Academy’s soccer team is doing exceptionally well. As the team continues to prosper on the field, they look forward to more games to come.
