The University of Michigan's football team ended their season with a bang: they brought home the national title after defeating Washington State. Both teams played an astonishing game and demonstrated great effort; however, all the hard work was worth it in the end for Michigan. Michigan took home the trophy and ended their season with a record of 15-0.
The Michigan Wolverines defeated the Alabama Crimson Tides in the playoff game. It was a close game with a score of 27-20. The Washington Huskies also came through in the playoff game and pulled off a win against the Texas Longhorns with a final score of 37-31. These victories sent the Wolverines and Huskies straight to the playoffs.
The excitement in the fans of these two incredible, undefeated teams spurred. Fans placed bets and anticipated that their team would come out on top. Michigan had a stellar start in the first quarter. Donovan Edwards scored 2 touchdowns of 40 yards each. The Wolverines demonstrated great effort and a terrific performance in the first quarter.
By the end of the first quarter, Michigan was up 13 to 3. In the second quarter, Micheal Penix threw a touchdown causing Washington to slightly catch up and persevere. However, Michigan was still taking the lead with a score of 17 to 10. Excitement arose and the suspense grew as the score became so close. In the third quarter both teams only scored one field goal each, making no difference in the contrast of the two scores.
Blake Corum stole the game in the fourth quarter scoring 2 touchdowns, which closed out the game leading Michigan to a 34-13 victory. Corum's performance of 130 yards and 2 touchdowns, alongside Donovan's 104 yard and 2 touchdowns led Michigan to success. It appears that Michigan's rushing attack was too much for the Washington defense.
Both teams displayed an outstanding performance; however, the Wolverines fought till the end and their endless stride of hard work this season all paid off when they received the opportunity to hold that glistening trophy in their hands.
