Global phenomenon Taylor Swift is a songwriting, performing, and singing mastermind, and now her Eras Tour just became the economic savior that the United States has been waiting for.
Swift has only toured the United States as of right now, and according to the U.S. Travel Association, has made $5.7 billion in consumer spendings. Hits Daily Double reported that Swifties have been spending $1,300-$1,500 on clothing, food, travel, hotels, etc. for every $100 spent on tickets, which is four to five times the usual rate.
This boosts the entertainment industry and the overall economy for the country, which has been struggling since the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020. The “Swift Effect” has greatly impacted not only the U.S. economy, but Swift’s chances of selling out shows, and consumer interests in going to in-person experiences like the Eras Tour has also increased significantly.
This tour will be going worldwide on November 7, 2023, with 84 dates set in Australia, Japan, Brazil, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Singapore, with more dates in the United States in Miami, Indianapolis, and New Orleans to add to the previous 53 shows in the U.S., beginning on March 17, 2023.
According to The Messenger, Swift is estimated to surpass $10 billion in consumer spending in just the United States, and her tour will likely have a huge economic impact in other countries as well.
We have all known that Taylor Swift is a superstar when it comes to music, but she has just recently become an economic warrior. Her global shows are yet to come, and the economy is hungry for some more Swift.
