The Knicks Burned by The Heat

The New York Knicks’ 2022-2023 season has been successful, considering their past seasons and experiences which did not go down well. The 2022-2023 season was the first time the Knicks had been to the Eastern Conference semifinals in a decade. They made it to the second round of playoffs and took it to six games. However, they lost to the Miami Heat in the sixth game.

The Knicks have a strong New York fan base that fills Madison Square Garden almost every game. They have a strong head coach with many years of experience, Tim Thibodeau. Their leading scorers for the season were Jalen Brunson, RJ Barrett, and Julius Randle. Jalen Brunson was the starting point guard, averaging about 28 points per game.

After games 3 and 4 Brunson said, "Long story short. We need to be better, I need to be better." He was determined to go far and he showed leadership throughout the season, pushing himself and his teammates.

The Knicks went against extreme competition, but showed their worth against the Heat. The first game of round 2 they lost 108-101, but then they won 111-105 in the second game.

Then, they ended up losing the next two games, but brought it back for the fifth game and won. However, the sixth game came along and they lost 96-92. Every game was close and the competition was high, but the Knicks fell short.

The Knicks may have not brought it home for New York this year, but this was definitely a step in the right direction for the seasons to come.

We have yet to see what the next year will bring, or even whom, in terms of off-season acquisitions. The spectrum of skill grows wider as the years go on and it's hard to see what’s next, but New York can only hope to go further next year.
