Victoria Palumbo '24

Yes, he is back! Tigers Woods is gearing up to tee off again at the 2023 Hero World Challenge. Will he do it? This will be the first time he will play since the Masters earlier this year.

This is just one of several returns for Woods. He has been plagued with setbacks due to several injuries, surgeries, and personal setbacks such as the infamous February 2021 car accident. How well will Woods perform? Is he ready to try again?

Woods has participated in various tournaments following his injuries and surgeries. Let’s take a look at some of the tournaments Woods has won following injuries and surgeries.

Since 2003, Woods has had several comebacks following a string of injuries. In 2003 he had a first competitive start following knee surgery. He won the Buick Invitational then. In 2008 Tiger won the U.S Open following yet

another surgery. In March 2012 he won the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

In October 2019, Woods won the Zozo Championship. Following a prolonged layoff, Wood finished 47th at the Masters in April 2022. Now with the 2023 Hero World Challenge in the books, Scottie Scheffler came out the winner.

Woods, in his first tournament in seven months, placed 18th.
