This past week the sophomore class had their retreat to Brentwood, Long Island where the Mother House for the sisters of Saint Joseph is located. The sophomores learned more about Fontbonne’s history and learned about the Sisters of Saint Josephs.
Mr. Scheidt, who is the leader of our campus ministry at Fontbonne, organized the trip for the sophomores to Brentwood and shared some information about his thoughts on the retreat. Mr. Scheidt shared that the sophomore class have been the only current students who have ever been to Brentwood as a group.
It was a great opportunity to see the Mother House of the sisters, and it was very informative to go speak to the sisters and learn more about the CSJ mission. He shares that he enjoyed meeting the sisters as well, and in the future hopes to expand the retreat to the 9th graders and maybe make it an overnight trip.
The sophomores' retreat started with an info session on Fontbonne’s history, location, and building. The sophomores also learned more about what the sisters of Saint Joseph stand for and do for us and the world. The sophomores learned about the land of Brentwood and they even saw some goats and chicken!
Our sophomore class shares that they loved the retreat and enjoyed getting to know the sisters and old history of Fontbonne.
