On January 25th, Fontbonne celebrated Accepted Students Night for the Class of 2028! SAC, The Principal’s Advisory Board, teachers, staff, and alumnae, congratulated all of the accepted students. Many 8th graders and incoming Bonnies joined in the night where they met and learned about their possible future classmates.
The accepted students were separated into groups by the color of a ribbon they received when they arrived. The ribbon was tied around a paper alongside a gift of a USB Fontbonne bracelet. Fontbonne’s chorus attended to sing the school song.
Our SAC president, Julie DiCapua, gave a speech to all accepted students and parents. Then, members of SAC and The Principal’s Advisory Board led their assigned group of girls to the breakout sessions to hear about our journey through Fontbonne and why we chose it for our high school experience.
Sharing our personal experiences was a way to connect with them, and hopefully assist in making their decision to choose Fontbonne. Next, we conducted some icebreakers and shared personal information so the accepted students could get to know each other. The 8th-grade girls had lots of fun and made new friends in the process. They were able to bond over shared interests and similarities they discovered in the breakout session.
The parents and guardians of the accepted students remained in the gymnasium to hear more information about Fontbonne. Anaya Qayyum delivered a speech about the AP Research class we offer. The department chairs shared information about the classes they teach and spoke about the classes we offer at the school. Mr. Gentile and Ms. Iannuci gave speeches to the parents discussing academics.
Overall, it was a very successful night. We were even joined by our beloved Bonnie mascot who took pictures with our accepted students! Everyone was all smiles! I can’t wait to see how many of those girls I met will become future Bonnies!
