From Monday, February 10 to Friday, February 14, Fontbonne students celebrated CPR Week. CPR stands for Courtesy, Pride, and Respect Week, and it’s a time when many students look forward to a week full of fun and organized activities.
The week kicked off with Fontbonne Pride Day on Monday, where students wore their favorite Fontbonne merch. On Tuesday, students had the chance to participate in a free dress-down day. Wednesday was dedicated to celebrating favorite non-school shows with a dress-up day.
Faculty Appreciation Day took place on Thursday, starting with a breakfast in the Faculty Room organized by SAC students to show appreciation for the faculty’s hard work. Students also dressed as their favorite teachers, which led to a fun and lighthearted atmosphere as students roamed the halls looking like their instructors. CPR Week wrapped up on Friday, February 14, with a $5 dress down to support Sports Night.
Many, including myself, agreed that CPR Week was a success. Emma Berardelli ‘26 shared her thoughts: “It was a really refreshing week. Everyone was happy." The week-long dress-downs especially resonated with students. Personally, wearing UGGs to school made my day better, and I think many would agree.
The theme was especially fitting for the week of Valentine's Day, which marked the end of CPR Week. It’s a week dedicated to showing appreciation for one another, culminating on a day centered around love.
The dress-downs and activities that SAC worked so diligently to organize also reflected the core values of courtesy, pride, and respect. CPR Week exemplifies what Fontbonne is all about—respect for ourselves and our school community.
SAC’s effort in bringing these themes to life served as a reminder of the values we discuss in our maxims each day. While appreciation for our students and teachers is shown year-round, CPR Week is a remarkable reminder of the spirit of courtesy, pride, and respect within our school.
