Embracing Tradition and Milestones: Junior Ring Day 2025 at Fontbonne Hall Academy

Ange Saucedo '25

A long-awaited milestone for the Class of 2025, Junior Ring Day, was celebrated this April 25 at Fontbonne Hall Academy.

In preparation for the special ceremony, the rings were blessed in the morning liturgy that the entire school took part in on Wednesday morning. After the rings were blessed by Fr. Fauci, the ceremony proceeded to include a speech from the junior class president, Caitrina Mullally.

Caitrina reminds the audience of the beauty of the Fontbonne community as she says, “Tonight’s ceremony is a huge milestone in all of our high school careers. The rings we are all receiving tonight symbolize our time together. Starting high school is an intimidating thing, but I think it is fair to say that by your second day of freshman year at Fontbonne, it becomes home.”

Following the memorable speech a short video containing memorable pictures of the past three high school years was presented. Memories from the first day of freshman year to their recent junior prom were submitted to Caitrina Mullally, who was in charge of creating the video. Reminiscing on joyful moments the juniors laughed and shed joyful tears realizing how quickly the time had passed.

The juniors ended the ceremony by altogether singing “Unwritten” by Natasha Bedingfield.

All the juniors arrived in beautiful spring dresses with floral designs and bright colors. Excitedly awaiting the arrival of their friends and family, they gathered in the courtyard taking pictures they could look back on for years to come.

At 6:00 pm, all family members and friends gathered to watch the junior receive their beautiful rings. A memorable ceremony was presented for the parents and all the juniors were called by name to receive their school ring.

The junior class thought out the presentation of the gifts well. Their uniform skirt along with a shirt designed for the Six Flags trip was presented in memory of their freshman year. The sophomore year gifts included the sophomore sleepover sweatshirt and a traditional sweet sixteen sash. Finally, the junior year gifts were memorable prom photos and their grand trophy won on Sports Night.

Along with a handshake and friendly smile from Mr. Gentile and Ms. Iannucci, the girls were handed their silver or gold rings adorned with a teal blue stone and beautifully engraved with the school name and graduation year.

To finalize the beautiful ceremony, the girls enthusiastically sang the traditional school song and gathered to take pictures with their loved ones.

On behalf of the Junior Class of 2025, we’d like to thank Mrs. Duggan, Mr. Somma, and all those who allowed us to celebrate this memorable day beautifully.
