Fontbonne’s First Carols On The Narrows!

Emma Berardelli '26

This past December 6th, Fontbonne’s Shore Road gates were opened to the community for the first annual “Carols On The Narrows.”

Flyers were posted, banners were displayed, and word of this welcoming event was communicated to all. An evening of classic melodies, refreshments, and the blessing of the Holy Creche was planned. It was nothing short of a wonderful time!

Fontbonne’s very own Chamber Choir prepared a list of Christmas Carols ranging from the classics “White Christmas” and “O Holy Night,” to upbeat favorites “Jingle Bells” and “Winter Wonderland.” These tunes made the night more meaningful for everyone present.

“It was truly a magical evening as the Bonnie Carolers graced our campus with their beautiful voices'' said Maria Bucca, a parent (‘26) and alumna (‘89) of FHA. Bucca shared that the night “flooded her with memories of her own days as a student at Fontbonne Hall Academy."

The Chamber Choir is led by Mr. Esposito and Ms. Klenner, both of whom were eager to prepare the students for the holiday season, one of the busiest times of year.

Ms. Klenner shared with us, “Although it was cold, everyone had such a warm and joyful energy! I enjoyed seeing everyone join in the fun despite the cold and windy weather!” Her and Mr. Esposito’s time in and out of the classroom is appreciated by the students!

I have been a part of the Chamber Choir for two years now and after participating in various choir events, the Carols of the Narrows event is high on my list of favorites. The tree lighting, wreath honors, the blessing of the Creche, carols, sweets, and most importantly the feeling of love amongst all the people, made the night special for me.

A friend of mine and  fellow choir member Molly Fox ‘26 agrees: “I think this was a great way to get involved and come together as a community.”

The Chamber Choir enjoyed being a part of this event for the community. By sharing their gift of singing, Fontbonne students warmly expressed their love and joy to all those present.

On behalf of the Chamber Choir and the Fontbonne community we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
