Fontbonne’s First Cheer Competition of the Season

Victoria Fasone '26

As Xavier’s football season is coming to an end, Fonbonne’s cheer team is just at its beginning. The Northeastern UCA regionals on November 19th left the whole team excited and nervous. Both teams were there not only to compete, but to cheer on their teammates in getting a bid for UCA nationals at Disney in Orlando, Florida.

After going to nationals last year, JV and Varsity are expecting to get a bid for their game day routine. However, they know it isn’t going to be handed to them. Both teams put hard work and dedication into their sport all year long, working especially hard in their competition season.

They want to go the distance and represent Fontbonne the best they can.

When asked how she felt about the upcoming competition, Gabrielle Parisella 26’ said, “I’m really excited for the competition and to be competing with this team for the first time. I also really hope we get a bid for traditional.” These feelings were shared by not only freshmen, but upperclassmen on the team as well. Everyone is thrilled to compete with the new members and make way for fresh talent. The Bonnie cheer squad constantly rises to the occasion, and has fun with not just their teammates, but their friends too.
