Mamma Mia! : Freshwomen Movie Night

Tessa Lomoro '26

On Thursday evening, November 10 from 7 - 11 pm, all Freshwomen were welcome for a fun movie night in the gym. Organized by Ms. Carrozza and Mr. Mckoy, Freshwomen were permitted to bring blankets and snacks while watching Mamma Mia on the projector screen. 9th graders were welcome to come in comfy clothes, without cost.

This night was the class of ‘26’s first occasion together as a full grade, and we have many more to look forward to. It was a great opportunity to connect with friends and have a good night to remember. The 9th grade Movie Night is a tradition Freshwomen look forward to in their first year at Fontbonne. Many don’t realize the influence just watching a movie may have on 9th graders in a new school. No matter what the movie, where, or how many snacks someone brought, I know every 9th grader had a great time.

What do other Freshwomen think of this event? When asked her favorite part of the night and her thoughts of the outcome, Isabella Belfiore (Grade 9) said, “I thought it was great and a well-organized event. My favorite part was that it gave freshmen a chance to get together and have fun in an unschool related circumstance. I enjoyed the movie and all the games we played.”

Ms. Carozza also thought that, “Movie night was very fun. The popcorn was delicious. All who came had a great time.”

What better way to make friends, have fun, and fulfill one of Fontbonne’s cherished traditions?
