Mrs. Crean Returns to Fontbonne Better than Ever

Toni-Marie Fichter '25

It is my pleasure to announce that Mrs. Crean has officially returned to Fontbonne after a few months of being on maternity leave, during which she gave birth to her son, Finn. Mrs. Crean is excited and prepared to get back into her normal life, and experience being a mom as well as the vice principal of our school.

Mrs. Crean is overjoyed to be back at Fontbonne, but getting back into the swing of things is going to come with some challenges. She has a lot of responsibilities at Fontbonne, but now she also has the responsibility of taking care of her baby at home. She loves how happy the Fontbonne community is for her, and how easy they have made her transition back to working full time. Mrs. Crean likes that she can still be the old her (a working woman) during the day, and a new part of her (a mom) as well.

Mrs. Crean stated, “ I was definitely nervous about leaving my son and do think about him pretty much every second, but in some ways, getting back to a schedule has helped me feel like a human again.”

Mrs. Crean is thrilled to be back at Fontbonne because it reminds her of why she chose the profession she is in. Even though she loves her son, she misses the students and seeing them excel in their classes, “seeing the powerful work your teachers provide you with and just being part of something bigger.”

She also gives a big shout out and thanks to all the teachers for being helpful and supportive. The teachers still come to check up on her and make sure she is doing OK throughout the day, which shows how good of a community Fontbonne is.

Mrs. Crean claims, “That compassion from this community helps get me through and I can't thank them enough. Also, I have so many people around me that can give me baby advice as seasoned parents, which is so helpful!”

The community is excited to see Mrs. Crean back and thriving with this new chapter in her life. She plays an important role in Fontbonne, and students as well as teachers look to her for guidance.

Jessica Tesoriero, a sophomore at Fontbonne exclaims, “Mrs. Crean is a really great asset to the Fontbonne community, and I want to congratulate her for becoming a mom! Her presence in the school is needed, and I'm glad she is officially back.”
