New Lockers Are Unlocked at Fontbonne

Juli-Anne Sarji '24

New lockers were installed on the second floor of Ita Ford, outside the labs. They are larger than all the lockers in the school that students have been using for many years.

The idea of installing new lockers for students was brought up when the whole second floor had to be renovated during the summer to build new science labs. When redoing the labs, workers had to take away all the old lockers. After the labs were finished it was realized that the old lockers could not be reinstalled. Therefore, the new lockers were the outcome.

Victoria Spagnulo ‘25 talked about her opinion on the new lockers, “I like the new lockers and I find them to be really nice. I like how they are bigger than the old lockers, which is beneficial to students.”

Many students who have FAs on the second floor have begun using the lockers and seem quite happy about them. They feel it is easier to have them on the second floor rather than on the third floor.

Gianna Sammartano ‘24 has recently started using one of the new lockers and stated, “I honestly think that having a locker on the second floor is more convenient than having one on the third floor. All the lockers in the school should be like the new lockers. The new lockers are overall bigger and are in a more convenient location for FAs that are in other buildings, which is beneficial since they won’t have to go all the way to the third floor to get to their locker.”

As the days go by, more students are receiving lockers on the second floor whether being closer to their FA, requesting a new one, or just so they don’t have to walk up to the third floor.

Overall, Fontbonne is always looking for ways to improve the school community and make the experience better for all students. The incorporation of new lockers makes it possible for students to remain more organized and have extra room to store their belongings. It is amazing how Fontbonne has its student’s best interests at heart.
