The seniors and freshmen had a Freshmen-Senior Christmas party on December 20th, 2023, after school, in the gym, in which they joined together to celebrate the joy of the holidays and bond together.
As a way to be cozy for their celebration and get in the festive mood, seniors and freshmen were allowed to dress down in cozy sweaters and pajamas.
The Christmas celebration began with seniors and freshmen sisters greeting each other and exchanging Christmas gifts. Smiles lit the faces of many girls as they opened their gifts and hugged their sisters.
Seniors and freshmen were then invited to enjoy some Christmas treats and refreshments of hot cocoa as they continued to talk to one another and take pictures together.
Not long after, some fun activities began to be set up by Ms. Sosa and Ms. Nicoll. The first activity consisted of playing musical hula hoops in which participants had to walk along the outside of the hula hoops, and when the music stopped, there could only be one person inside each hula hoop. As the game went on and hula hoops began being taken out, the game became harder, and in the end, a freshman won. The game was overall exciting to participate in and made people laugh and have fun.
Helen Kalamaras ‘24 excitedly talked about how the party was very fun, especially when playing activities, when she stated, “The party was so much fun! I really liked the musical hula hoops; they were so fun! Shout out to Ms. Nicoll, Ms. Sosa, and the freshmen for participating.”
Seniors and freshmen were able to bond once again when they partnered up and played the game of head, shoulders, knees, toes, and plate together. The agenda was that as Ms. Nicoll called out parts of the body and eventually exclaimed to pick up the plate, whoever picked it up first would win.
The game was very fun for all who participated in playing it, and it was especially funny since people rotated partners and there were extra plates on the gym floor.
Zoe Kakanakis '27 said how much she enjoyed the Christmas party when she exclaimed, “It was really fun, and I loved all of the games; it was a great bonding experience!”
One really special item that was contributed to the Christmas party was a photo op created by a fellow student’s mother, which allowed freshmen and their senior sisters to take pictures and selfies together to keep for a lifetime.
Laura Meoli ‘24 talked about how the party helped her bond even more with her freshman sister when she stated, “I thought the party was a lot of fun and brought me and my freshman sister closer together. We exchanged gifts and played fun games throughout the party that helped spread positive Christmas energy all around.”
Truly, this amazing Christmas party full of laughter, gifts, activities, and fun couldn’t have occurred without Ms. Sosa, Ms. Nicoll, Ms.DiCarlo, the year presidents and representatives, and all the freshmen and seniors who participated in this event.
