With Sports Night right around the corner, there is a lot of preparation, practice and competition in the air. Sports Night is the biggest and most celebrated event at Fontbonne. Nothing compares to Sports Night, especially when trying to raise school spirit.
Sports Night takes place once a year during March, and on this day the Fontbonne community is brought together to celebrate Fontbonne and its past. Sports Night has been a part of Fontbonne for over 40 years, and every year, it brings joy to the students and faculty.
On this day the 4 grades join to compete in different events to see who is the best. The events vary from tumbling to sports to song and everything in between. Everything that is performed and made must be created by the student body. And the winner, of course, receives bragging rights!
After talking with Mrs. Nicoll, who has been a part of Sports Night for many years, she says, “The camaraderie and the competition is unmatched. I love seeing everyone come together!”
I also got to speak with one of the past judges of Sports Night, Mrs. Proseus. Now being a part of the behind the scenes work, she says, “It is the best season of the year! It is great to see what is accomplished from the start to the end.”
Sports Night is clearly Fontbonne’s most popular and most loved tradition. Everyone loves watching what us students can accomplish. Everyone who gets the opportunity to experience Sports Night falls in love with it! With that being said, good luck to everyone and let the best grade win!
