The Fontbonne Community Held a Walk-A-Thon Fundraiser to Raise Money for New Vans

Isabella Belfiore '26

Every October, a walk-a-thon takes place, and our Fontbonne Hall Academy community raises money for a different cause to improve our school. Our students did a great job raising money to purchase Fontbonne Hall Academy vans, which will serve many purposes and be extremely beneficial.

These vans will be used to transport sports teams to their game without having to rent a bus. Furthermore, they can also bring students to and from school-related trips.

Many of our faculty members had several positive things to say about the vans that Fontbonne has invested in. Mr. O’Connor, religion teacher and director of campus ministry says, “The vans are a great way to save money and a good form of advertisement for the school.”

Some members of the administration have stated that these vans were a wise purchase and will go to good use. Mr. Gentile, our school principal, states, “One of the biggest expenditures was transportation and the vans will save a significant amount of money. Aside from the financial aspect, they are a great representation of Fontbonne and will allow the students to go on several trips. The vans are worth it financially and a great way of displaying school spirit.”

I have gathered only positive commentary on the purchase of the vans. They will save money for the school and open up more opportunities for us, the students. Many are ecstatic that we have this modernized way of moving students from place to place, at our very own school. This was a great purchase for Fontboone and an amazing new form of transportation for our school. This fundraiser was very successful and students cannot wait to ride in the new vans!
